LED lamps G4 and G9 for compact fixtures

LED lamps G4 and G9 are compact light sources for fixtures where little space is available. They are widely used in furniture lighting, display cases, cabinet lighting, wall lights, ceiling lights, pendant lights and decorative fixtures. By replacing traditional halogen bulbs with LED the energy consumption can be reduced significantly.

G4 LED lamps

G4 LED lamps have two thin straight pins and are commonly used in compact fixtures. G4 lighting typically operates on 12 volt. Within the range you will find different shapes and versions, including compact column lamps and flat models. There are versions with a fixed light colour and CCT models with adjustable light colour.

G9 LED lamps

G9 LED lamps are compact capsule lamps with two loop-shaped contacts. They are often used in small ceiling lights, wall lights, pendant lights and decorative fixtures. G9 lamps often operate directly on 230 volt, but always check the voltage and technical specifications of the chosen product before installation.

G4 and G9 are not interchangeable

Although G4 and G9 LED lamps are both compact plug-in lamps, they use different fittings and voltages. A G4 lamp therefore cannot be replaced by a G9 lamp or vice versa. Always check the fitting, voltage, dimensions, wattage and the available space in the fixture before ordering.

Choosing the right G4 or G9 LED lamp

When choosing a G4 or G9 LED lamp, consider the desired light colour, luminous flux, dimensions and operating voltage. Also check for G4 lighting whether any existing transformer is suitable for LED lighting.
