LED Panel Driver 40W TRIAC Dimmable

With this TRIAC-dimmable LED driver of 40W you make an LED panel dimmable with a TRIAC wall dimmer, such as the separately available TRIAC wall dimmer of 5 to 300W.

What is TRIAC dimming?

TRIAC dimming is the best-known way of dimming with a wall dimmer, as you often find in homes. The dimmer regulates the mains voltage and a TRIAC-dimmable driver translates that into the brightness of the panel. This allows you to dim LED panels with an ordinary rotary dimmer on the wall, without an app or remote control. Make sure that the total power of the connected lighting falls within the range of the dimmer.

What is an LED driver for?

An LED panel does not run directly on 230V, but on a low, constant current. The driver converts the mains voltage into exactly the current the panel needs. That is why it is important that the output current of the driver (in mA) and the power (in W) match the panel. If you replace a driver, check the type plate of the panel or the old driver to see which current and power are needed.
