With this power connection you bring the power of an external 48V driver to the 48V-track. You click the connection into the start of the track and connect the cable to the output of the 48V driver. So this component is not a power supply: it is the connection between a separate driver and the track.
Do you need this?
With the standard 48V-track you only need this component if you use an external 48V driver, for example a driver that you place outside the track in a ceiling or cabinet. If you choose the internal driver of 150W that slides into the track, you do not need this connection. An external 48V driver is not included.
